We all have unconscious bias. But if particular employee groups (senior leaders for example) are not on the receiving end of an inclusion problem, then it is difficult for them to appreciate and understand what the problem is. Overcoming unconscious bias demands that new habits are formed. This requires that an individual deliberately and repeatedly steps out of their comfort zone and ‘walks toward their bias – walks toward their discomfort’ (Verna Meyer, TEDx 2014). Our approach challenges people to face their bias and form the new habits that they need in order to perform and in order to shape vibrant and inclusive cultures.
