Digital learning
IDM is currently designing a pilot digital learning program for an employee group of 100 individuals deployed in Jordan and the UAE. This project includes 3 x learning programs on the digital platform and is ground-breaking in that it not only of builds core skills but also builds awareness and around terms and conditions and employee rights - specifically ethical fair labour provision - which is a critical issue in many GCC countries. These learning programs are also being translated into a non-European language, so further stress testing the utility of digital learning in disadvantaged employee groups.

This work includes a comprehensive overview of learning and employment outcomes; a curation of learning content and delivery channels; the mapping of skill sets to employment opportunities; and detailed User Acceptability Testing.

Behaviour change:
March - December 2020: IDM worked for the Minerals Council of South Africa and in partnership with RIIS (The Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability) in a major initiative to help the mining sector respond to the threat of COVID-19. Through extensive research, and using the B-COM behaviour change model as a framework, IDM and RIIS created a powerful set of tools and interventions to help the mining sector protect their employees and host communities from the threat of the pandemic.
